Internship Training
All clinical interns at Anesis are expected to attend, participate, and complete training in Trauma-Informed Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT), which is provided by Anesis. This training requires three full training days in September and two full training days again in Feb/Mar. Additional mandatory TF-CBT consultations occur once a month in the morning on various days depending on availability. Attendance is required at all consultations and training days to successfully complete the training.
Additional training is provided and required to be completed by clinical interns for our Comprehensive Community Services (CCS) and Crisis Stabilization programs, through which many of our clients belong. CCS requires 40 hours of training be completed within the first three months of internship experience. These training hours work towards indirect hours for our clinical interns.
Clinical Internship Experience
Clinical interns are required to complete a three day initial on-boarding orientation prior to beginning their internship. Clinical interns will be trained in scheduling, DAP notes, intake processes, assessment completion, and crisis intervention strategies.
Clinical interns will shadow various clinicians for the first two weeks of internship while working to build case-load and learning various clinical attending skills. Clinical interns are expected to begin seeing clients one-on-one after this process. Supervisors will consistently be available during this process.
Mandatory internship seminars will occur twice a month on Fridays from 12:30pm-2:30pm. During this time, Anesis supervisors and clinicians will provide various trainings revolving around play therapy, suicide prevention, and other clinically relevant topics. Seminar will also offer an opportunity for clinical interns to participate in additional reflective supervision, role-play, and solidifying attending and administrative skills.
