Internship Training

Training is provided and required to be completed by clinical interns for our Comprehensive Community Services (CCS) program, in order to provide therapeutic services through Dane County. Many of our clients utilize CCS services. CCS requires 40 hours of training,  most of which will be facilitated during orientation. The remainder will be scheduled and completed within the first two months of the internship experience. These training hours work towards indirect hours for our clinical interns.

Clinical Internship Experience

Clinical interns are required to complete a four day initial on-boarding orientation prior to beginning their internship.

Clinical interns will be trained in scheduling, DAP and SOAP notes, intake processes, assessment completion, treatment planning and crisis intervention strategies.

Clinical interns will shadow various clinicians during the first few weeks of internship while working to build case-load and learning various clinical attending skills. Clinical interns are expected to begin seeing clients one-on-one immediately after this process. The expectation is that interns will work with all ages and populations.

Mandatory internship seminars will occur twice a month on Fridays from 9am-10am. During this time, Anesis supervisors and clinicians will provide various trainings revolving around play therapy, suicide prevention, and other clinically relevant topics. Seminars will also offer  opportunities for clinical interns to participate in additional reflective supervision, role-play, and solidifying attending and administrative skills.
