ABOUT ANESIS
OUR MISSION:
Helping individuals navigate the mental health and wellness aspects of their lives in a way that honors culture, family, community, and faith.
OUR VISION:
Healing for the People— Community is the SOURCE of healing.
We envision a future where ALL members of our community can access premier health services that HEAL and EMPOWER them to thrive.
At Anesis Therapy, we believe everyone deserves to be seen and honored fully–not only as dynamic and nuanced individuals, but also as people who are shaped by, and are shaping, their communities, cultures, faiths and families. This way of seeing has healing powers. It is at the heart of what we do at Anesis.
Many of us at Anesis have experienced first-hand the harms of racist and oppressive mental health systems, and we are on a mission to change this: we actively work to never pathologize or criminalize our clients or their mental health concerns. We seek to understand our clients within their social, economic and political contexts, never losing sight of each clients’ inherent worth.
Founded in 2016 by Myra McNair, Anesis Therapy is bringing more culturally sensitive, visionary mental health care to Dane County.
We are a state-certified DHS clinic that provides mental health, substance abuse and case management services.
Our staff is racially, culturally, sexually and linguistically reflective of the communities we serve. We bring our lived insight, generational wisdom, community knowledge, and clinical experiences into all aspects of our work. We meet our clients where they are, and together chart a course for healing that is supportive, accessible, creative and joyous!
Services are provided in English, Spanish, and Hmong.
