Victoria Harris
Parent Peer Support Specialist
Victoria is proud to be a Certified Parent Peer Support Specialist. She has dedicated her life to supporting families and children of color. A lifelong Madisonian, Victoria's family roots in the community date back to 1902, providing her with a deep connection to its history and people. She earned her master's degree from UW-Madison in the School of Education.
Throughout her career, Victoria has faced significant personal challenges, including her own mental health struggles and experiences with trauma. Her journey to recovery led her to discover a critical gap in culturally competent mental health care, particularly for people of color, especially within the Black community. This realization sparked her passion for advocating for better access to culturally sensitive mental health services. Her efforts have made a profound impact on the lives of families and children in her community, creating more inclusive and supportive environments for all.
Outside of her professional endeavors, Victoria finds joy spending quality time with her loved ones. Her best friends include her dad and her two daughters, who bring laughter and warmth to her life. Victoria is also an animal lover, cherishing moments walking her dog and cuddling with her two cats.
