Nancy Gomez
Psychotherapist, LMFT
Salud Mental Program Director
Nancy Jessenia Gomez believes that a strong, authentic relationship between clients and their therapist can serve as a safe bedrock for clients’ transformation and healing. Nancy embraces her sense of humor, candor, warmth and relatability in her work with clients to foster genuine and meaningful connections.
Nancy earned her Master’s in Marriage and Family Therapy from Edgewood College, and her Bachelor’s in Human Development and Family Studies from UW-Madison. She has over 8 years of experience working in advocacy and wrap-around services for children, youth, homeless persons and the immigrant community. She is trained in several trauma based therapeutic approaches, including EMDR, Brainspotting, and TF-CBT. Nancy is a certified practitioner of Hypnosis, and is also trained in the Gottman Method for couples therapy. Recognizing the importance of early childhood attachment, Nancy pursued additional training in the Infant, Early Childhood and Family Mental Health program at UW-Madison, where she is also completing the Child Parent Psychotherapy Program.
Nancy sees herself as a bridge, and an advocate, for mental health services that can serve those who are marginalized and without resources. In 2021, she became the Program Director of the Salud Mental Program at Anesis, which seeks to eliminate barriers faced by the Latine community when accessing mental health services. At Salud Mental, Nancy supervises bilingual clinicians, and oversees the program’s endeavor to increase bilingual resources and cultural awareness within Madison’s mental health systems.
