Bilingual Care Facilitator

mindy j navarro is a Bilingual Care Facilitator at Anesis, bringing a unique perspective shaped by her personal experiences with mental health and her work with BIPOC and neurodivergent youth. She holds a Latin American, Caribbean & Iberian Studies BA from UW Madison.

Born in Madison but raised in Mexico, mindy is the 5th out of 6 siblings and the first in her family to acquire a college degree. Her bilingual skills (Spanish/English) and multifaceted creativity are valuable assets in her role.

mindy believes in destigmatizing mental health treatment, especially among BIPOC communities. She advocates for making mental health services more accessible and emphasizes the importance of showing the mind the same love we show our physical health. While not a clinician, she approaches her own mental health through holistic methods, including herbal medicines, astrology, laughter, and traditional therapy and psychiatry.

Her creative pursuits have led to contributions in bilingual literary projects, including the "Montañas, and Three or Four Ríos Bilingual Anthology" and the "467 Poets Café Virtual Book."

Outside of work, mindy enjoys yoga, biking, hammocking, various forms of art (drawing, creative writing, printmaking, dancing, collages, photography, & content creation), fashion, and astrology.

What mindy loves most about working at Anesis are the deep, vulnerable conversations that come with laughter and wisdom. In the mental health field, she values witnessing and assisting BIPOC individuals take steps to care for their mental health.
