Kianna Goodwin
Psychotherapist, LCSW
Kianna was born and raised in Los Angeles and holds a master’s in Social Work from UW Madison with a specialization in mental health. Before coming to Anesis, she had four years of advocacy and counseling experience working with survivors of sexual assault and domestic violence in Madison. She lived abroad for several years and has done policy research in India with a focus on healthcare, education and rights for women and minorities as well as taught English in Vietnam and China.
She is particularly interested in exploring how trauma impacts the individual, family systems, and communities. She is also interested in understanding how the body holds trauma and finding different ways to incorporate this mind-body connection into therapeutic work.
Kianna comes from a multi-cultural background and is interested in exploring the importance of identity and how our identities impact the way that we engage with the world.She is open, patient, and compassionate and she hopes to provide clients a space to be themselves and help them discover what they need to feel supported and confident moving forward in their own lives.
