(She/Her/Hers/Ella)
Psychotherapist
Emily Mendoza serves as a Bilingual Psychotherapist at our clinic, holding both Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees in Social Work with a focus on Mental Health and Community. In her role, Emily, brings a year of dedicated experience in the mental health field. She specializes in working with a diverse age range of clients, from toddlers as young as two years old to individuals in their late 70s, with a focus on addressing anxiety, depression, and trauma. Emily is particularly committed to serving marginalized communities, including low-income families, BIPOC, LGBTQ+, and immigrant individuals.
In her therapeutic practice, Emily utilizes person-centered and emotion-focused approaches, prioritizing the client-therapist relationship and collaboratively working towards the client’s identified goals and needs. She emphasizes the importance of early child development and attachment theory, exploring how these factors influence her clients’ identities and life perspectives. Although Emily has not contributed to research or publications, her approach is deeply influenced by the belief that everyone has mental health just as they have physical health.
Outside of her professional life, Emily enjoys spending time outdoors with her family and friends, cooking and sharing meals, baking, and reading a wide range of books from self-help to romance and fiction. A native Spanish speaker, Emily also brings an important linguistic skill to her role, enhancing her ability to connect with a broader client base. An interesting personal tidbit about Emily is that, despite her many talents, she has never learned how to ride a bike.
Emily is deeply passionate about the connections and therapeutic relationships she builds with her clients, finding great fulfillment in her work at Anesis
