Advanced Clinical Intern
Annie Leto serves as an Advanced Clinical Intern at Anesis, bringing a robust educational background with a Bachelor's degree in Psychology and a certificate in Criminal Justice from UW-Madison. She is currently pursuing a master’s degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling and a certificate in Trauma-Informed Care at UW-Milwaukee. With four years of experience in the mental health field, Annie specializes in working with children, adolescents, adults, and families dealing with adoption dynamics, as well as cultural and ethnic issues. She is skilled in diagnosing and treating anxiety, depression, stress, and psychosis.
Annie’s therapeutic approach is versatile, incorporating Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Mindfulness-Based Therapy, Trauma-Responsive Therapy, and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy. Her commitment to research is evident from her internship at UW-Madison’s School of Human Ecology, where she focused on “Improving Outcomes for Incarcerated Parents and Their Children During Jail Visits.” Annie believes that mental health is fundamental to overall well-being, essential for building resilience and meaningful relationships.
Outside of her professional commitments, Annie enjoys staying active and engaged with her community through walking, playing tennis, dancing, cooking, solving puzzles, and attending local events in Madison. An interesting personal detail about Annie is her background as an adoptee from China, which has significantly shaped her personal and professional life, fostering her passion for understanding diverse family dynamics and cultural backgrounds.
