Psychotherapist
Meet Karma Tsedon, a dynamic psychotherapist who brings a rich cultural background and a diverse range of expertise to our team at Anesis. Born and raised in a Tibetan Refugee camp in Nepal, Karma's personal journey as a first-generation immigrant heavily influenced her dedication to mental health and her commitment to becoming a clinician.
Karma obtained her Master's in Social Work from UW-Madison. Over the past four years, she has built an impressive professional portfolio, working across a multitude of behavioral health settings. These experiences range from primary care and group homes to intensive outpatient programs, inpatient hospitalizations, community care coordination and services, and correctional environments.
Not only does Karma possess the practical knowledge and hands-on experience necessary for the job, but she also demonstrates a profound understanding of the mind and body connection, affirming that one's emotional health is inextricably linked to physical well-being. She employs a range of therapeutic modalities, including ACT, Self-compassion, CBT, SFT, Mindfulness, and DBT, customizing her approach to align with each client's individual needs.
Karma has a specific interest in serving clients aged 10 and above, focusing on a variety of mental health concerns. Her areas of expertise include anxiety, depression, interpersonal relationships, neurodivergent populations, body image concerns, and insomnia.
Off duty, Karma leads an adventurous life. Her love for travel, hiking, and spending time with her dog Peanut, reflects her explorative nature. She also cherishes her Tibetan culture and values the wisdom imparted by figures like His Holiness, the 14th Dalai Lama. Her favorite quote is, “We can never obtain peace in the outer world until we make peace with ourselves.”.
Karma is not only bilingual, speaking English and Tibetan, but she also holds certifications in CBT-E and CBT-I, allowing her to serve a diverse range of clients. What she loves most about working at Anesis is the opportunity to engage with, serve, and learn from a rich mosaic of cultures. This fusion of experiences and cultures significantly contributes to her professional growth, making Karma an invaluable asset to the Anesis team.
