Patient Account Coordinator

Gemila, originally from the Uptown area of Chicago, relocated to Wisconsin at the age of 19 to pursue her education in Interior Design. However, during her academic journey, Gemila confronted the realities of her family's history with mental health illnesses and substance abuse. This personal revelation, intensified by the tragic loss of her mother to an addiction-related illness, led her to pivot her educational focus towards the medical field.

Driven by her personal experiences, Gemila earned a degree in Medical Administration and Billing, allowing her the flexibility to specialize. She gravitated towards the Mental Health and Substance Abuse sectors, stemming from her firsthand experience with family members battling these challenges. This choice, though poignant and challenging, positioned Gemila uniquely to empathize with and support those grappling with addiction, often intertwined with mental health issues.

Recognizing the foundational significance of mental health in addressing addiction, Gemila shifted her attention to delve deeper into the root causes of such challenges. She believes that understanding the core reasons behind an individual's struggles is crucial for effective treatment. To further this mission, Gemila identified the significance of medical billing, understanding that facilitating affordable care is paramount for continuous treatment access. This realization cultivated her passion for billing, ensuring individuals receive consistent and affordable care.
