Esther Chun
Psychotherapist
Esther Chun, is enthusiastically pursuing her graduate degree in the Marriage & Family Therapy program at Edgewood College. Although new to the mental health field, Esther's dedication and passion for her role is great.
A steadfast generalist, Esther employs a versatile and adaptable approach to therapy, tailored to meet the unique needs of each client. Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT), deeply rooted in attachment theory, is one technique Esther feels particularly connected to. This aligns with her firm belief that humans are inherently wired for connection and that recovery occurs within relational contexts.
At the heart of Esther's therapeutic philosophy lies the understanding that healing is a collaborative process. She gains inspiration and satisfaction from working with clients dedicated to creating richer, more fulfilling lives. With a driving desire to understand people at their core, she brings a compassionate and empathetic touch to her therapy sessions.
Outside the therapy room, Esther cherishes self-expression, often engaging in hobbies that allow her ideas to take tangible form. Through movement, writing, art, or engaging conversation, she explores experiences that give life to her thoughts and emotions.
An interesting personal quirk of Esther's is her tradition of listening to the same song every time she's in a plane that's taking off – a testament to her appreciation for ritual and continuity.
Esther values her role at Anesis Therapy, particularly praising the organization for its understanding that providing support for its clients also means providing support for its staff. She feels privileged not only to do work that impacts lives but also to be part of a team where she feels genuinely valued and appreciated.
