Advanced Practicum Internist
Alex is an Outpatient Therapy Intern. She is a Master's student at the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater, studying counseling. Alex feels strongly that all clients deserve peace, catharsis and joy. In sessions, Alex collaborates with each client on personalized goals.
She uses a wide variety of therapeutic modalities and techniques, giving each client individualized, practical and trauma-informed support. She is certified in Trauma-Informed Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT). While her foundation is Relational-Cultural Therapy, she also uses Breathwork, Narrative Therapy, Satir Family Therapy, TF-CBT and Polyvagal Theory to help clients reach their goals. Compassion, equity, systems knowledge and integrity are central to her counseling approach. Alex seeks to empower each client to help themselves through empathy, connection and cultural humility. While Alex is open to working with all clients, she is particularly committed to working with people who have experienced trauma, LGBTQ+ individuals and older adults.
In Alex's free time she likes to bake, tend to her many houseplants and try new foods.
