Alej has a spectrum of experience working with a variety of concerns, but is most skilled in: mood disorders (depression, anxiety, bipolar, etc.), LGBTQIA2S+ concerns, multiracial identity integration, relationship issues, polyamory, sex and sexuality, grief and loss, self-worth, and master’s or doctoral level students seeking support.

Alej is LGBTQIA2S+ affirming and works to provide a safe space to explore spectrums of gender and sexuality. They provide gender-affirming therapy services, as well as letters of readiness, and are passionate about providing care to Trans* individuals in need of support. Alej also affirms and supports a variety of spiritual and religious practices and is grateful to incorporate those spiritualitiesinto sessions as clients need. Narrative Therapy, Collaborative Therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, and TF-CBT are a few of the therapeutic models Alej uses to support clients. In 2024, Alej is working to complete Gottman levels 1& 2 for couple therapy. Alej uses lenses of intersectionality, feminism, systems theory, and clinical research to inform their practice

Growing up in Madison, WI, Alej was raised in a multiracial/multicultural home. Because of this, they take a “both/and” approach to life, rather than “either/or”. Alej works to help others feel empowered in their identities, reminding them that each of us has a unique human experience that is worthy of validation and support. Many individuals have historically been left out of the psychology and therapy process. Alej brings awareness and sensitivity to this contemporary issue, keeping in mind that all humans are worthy of health, safety, and peace.
