Vilitha Clay

In-Home Program Director, MSW, LCSW

Vilitha Clay, APSW, is a licensed Advanced Practice Social Worker, with a Master of Social Work degree from Loyola University, a Bachelor of Social Work degree from Mount Mary College, and an Associate Degree in Human Services from Milwaukee Area Technical College. Vilitha brings to Anesis Therapy Clinic over 20 years of progressive education and practical experience in psychosocial assessments, crisis intervention, suicide prevention, education, and supportive counseling for individuals, groups, and families in various settings.

Career highlights: As a Child Care Director, Vilitha focused on the care and development of children who range from newborn to five years of age.  As a Parent Educator Supervisor for Next Door, Milwaukee County’s largest Head Start Program, she provided oversight and consultation to Social Workers who delivered targeted case management and education to families. While employed at William S. Middleton Veteran’s Hospital, as a Medical Social Worker and a Field Agency Supervisor for UW Madison, she established and maintained effective therapeutic relationships with Veteran’s and their families while providing education and supervision to students.

Vilitha has made presentations at numerous professional conferences, seminars, and schools. For instance, Vilitha collaborated with several Madison School Districts to provide education and consultation to teachers, counselors, and social workers on the topic of suicide prevention and intervention. As well as provide supportive individual and group counseling for at-risk youth.

Vilitha has additional expertise in the following curricula: Social Emotional Learning Initiatives, Parent as Teachers, Family Systems, Positive Parenting, Nurturing Parenting Partnering for success, Great Beginnings, Ages and Stages, Raising a Thinking Child, and Infant Mental Health.

Vilitha’s purpose and passion lies in empowering families to thrive in a system which was born in genocide. As the In-home Mental Health Program Manager at Anesis, she will work to stimulate staff growth and development to provide families with the tools needed to restore balance in their homes, communities, and lives. In her spare time, she enjoys meditation, walking, hiking, reading, listening to music, watching movies, and spending time with family.
